As Ian Woosnam has just shown in the Cisco World Matchplay, even if your opponent throws a 61 at you, if you hang in there, something can, and very often does, happen to turn things around.
Some times it's your own play, on other occasions it's your opponent who concedes you an edge, and at other times still it's the golfing gods.
We may never be able to play to the same standard as Ian Woosnam but there's nothing to stop any of us from emulating his attitude by refusing to acknowledge defeat while there's still hope.
