Brad Faxon and Nick Faldo have, over many years, been two of the most consistent putters in world golf.
One of the main reasons, as demonstrated by Nick (above) is that they stay 'down' over the shot and are not over-anxious to look up at the result of their stroke. In Faldo's case, his ball is at least eight feet away but his head has only just started to move, while his posture hasn't changed at all since he made the stroke.
In fact Faldo is renowned for keeping still and waiting to hear his putt drop.
Generally, 'Keep your head down' is one of the worst pieces of advice given to golfers - it means they often stick their chin on their chest and this restricts their ability to make a full shoulder turn.
But on the putting green it can be excellent advice.
